Support is most useful when it responds to what a person actually needs. RLP offers optional supportive services that can help residents manage everyday routines while encouraging personal responsibility. These include:
Wellness check-ins to create regular opportunities to connect.
Transportation assistance for appointments, work, or community activities.
Light housekeeping to help maintain a clean and peaceful home.
These supports are practical, not a replacement for clinical care or specialized services. Residents may also choose to connect with other providers for needs outside the program’s scope. Asking what a housing provider can and cannot offer is a good way to understand whether its support is right for you.
Questions to ask when comparing housing options
Before choosing a program, consider asking:
What type of housing is provided, and are rooms shared or private?
What is included in the program fee or rent?
How long can someone stay, and how are extensions or move-out plans handled?
Which services are available, and are they optional?
What are the eligibility requirements and application steps?
Is the program a shelter, treatment provider, licensed care facility, or independent living program?
Who should you contact if your needs or circumstances change?
Clear answers help you understand expectations before making a decision. If information is unclear, it is reasonable to ask for more detail.
How RLP approaches a stable place to rebuild
At Rooted Living Program, housing is the foundation, not a measure of anyone’s worth or a reward for having everything figured out. We aim to offer structure without judgment and dignity without conditions. Our faith-rooted purpose, inspired by Isaiah 58:12, informs our commitment to help people rebuild and move forward while welcoming residents from many backgrounds.
A stable home does not solve every challenge. It can, however, provide a place from which to take the next step. That step may be small, practical, and entirely your own.
